K’s Dream, October 1986

…Kathy had a dream the other night: Outside my apartment window there was a pile of discarded cigarette packages, and cigarette lighters of every colour, which I had thrown away when they had stopped working. (K had bought me a lighter recently.) The lighters symbolize lovers and, I guess, the packages are relationships. She thinks I am going to throw her away when I get through with her. (I had told her that I like all sizes and shapes.)
